Two new drives distributors have joined the growing network being set up by TM Automation, as it builds its market presence as Toshiba's Strategic Partner for automation tc Globe Electrical Supplies of Paignton, Devon, celebrated its appointment with a first sale of 30kW and 7.5kW drives to a local manufacturer.

Industries in the South West that Globe will be servicing will include ceramic manufacturing, quarrying, the china clay industry, agriculture and food processing.

Globe's expertise in the industrial sector is well known in the South West.

Agriculture and food will also be main targets for the second new distributor, TK Electrical Supplies, which will be responsible for drives distribution throughout East Anglia from its St Neots base.

It will also be stocking Toshiba's PLC ranges, which are expected to be particularly popular with the manufacturing industries in the area.

Robert Garrick is developing TM Automation's activities with the Toshiba drives, and explains: "We are still looking for distributors in the North East and South Wales to complete the UK national network.

All our distributors are selected very carefully, because they have to have the expertise and commitment to do justice to Toshiba's continuous innovations.

For instance, we are now introducing the new Toshiba P7 pump and fan drive, shown for the first time at this year's Hanover Fair.

This is available in sizes from 18.5kW to 315kW, is very compact yet is loaded with state of the art technology, and all our distributors are selling and supporting it from the day of its launch! "We will also be offering high levels of customer support centrally from TM Automation, in part using the new Technical Support Centre now being built in the West Midlands.

As Toshiba1s Strategic Partner, it is our aim to offer the same level of investment and support as the manufacturer.".
