Flow rate totaliser offers easy setup
The RT12 flow rate totaliser can be mounted on a meter, wall or pipe and is simple to set up and use.
Trimec have recently introduced a new intrinsically safe flow rate totaliser to their established range of flow control products.
The RT12 flow rate totaliser is designed primarily for flow metering applications, although is also suitable for speed indication applications.
In addition to a general industrial rate totaliser, the RT12 is now available as an intrinsically safe model and will withstand the most hazardous environments.
The IS version is certified in accordance with both the Atex directive to EN50-014/EN50-020 and the IECex scheme to IEC 60079-0/IEC 60079-11.
It is also certified IP66/67 weatherproof in accordance with EN-60529:1991.
The RT12 can be mounted on a meter, wall or pipe and is simple to set up and use.
It features three easy-to-view data displays on a large LCD.
Data input is accomplished via push button selection and provides five-digit instantaneous flow rate and an eight-digit resettable total along with an eight-digit accumulative total.
Total and flow rate units of measure are user-selectable via a simple programming sequence featuring scrolling English language prompts, so configuration can be completed without the need for user manuals.
The RT12 is suitable for use with all types of digital output flowmeters thanks to its compatibility with reed, open collectors, hall effect switches, Namur or variable reluctance type sensors, voltage pulse wire or TTL signals.
In the intrinsically safe format appropriate galvanic isolators or barriers are required if a powered sensor is being used.
The unit also features as standard 10-point linearisation which enables the user to programme segments of the flowmeter curve in frequency versus "K" factor format and so provides an enhanced linearity of a given flow metering device.
The RT12 is packaged in a strong, UV stabilised glass-re-enforced nylon housing with a protection lid that covers the display and push-buttons.
It has three electrical entry points fitted with sealed breakouts that are either threaded M20 or 1/2-inch NPT to enable interfacing with flow meters or other associated devices.
