Robots on show at Interplas

At Interplas 2002, TM Robotics, Toshiba Machine's European industrial robot partner, is demonstrating its latest range of SCARA robots.

At Interplas 2002, TM Robotics, Toshiba Machine's European industrial robot partner, is demonstrating its latest range of SCARA robots The TH-350 SCARA robot, can be viewed on the Wittmann (UK) stand (Stand 5342), while on the Toshiba Machine stand (Stand 5234), the SR-654HSP SCARA will be integrated with Toshiba Machine's injection moulding machine

The high accuracy and repeatability of the TH-350 will be demonstrated as it is integrated into a cell containing bowl feeder, vision and conveyor systems.

With quick cycle times and fast motion, the SCARA features absolute encoders as standard, and handles payloads of up to 3kg, with repeatability of 0.01mm, and an arm length of 350mm.

The TH-350 will use a TS1000 controller to provide enhanced monitoring and complete system control of the robotic cell, while featuring a PLC to simplify and increase the speed of data transfer.

The Toshiba Machine stand features the SR-654HSP SCARA demonstrating its skills, while handling and assembling moulded plastic components.

A Wittmann cartesian robot offloads the plastic mould from the Toshiba Machine EC60 Plastic injection moulding machine, allowing the SCARA to assemble the finished mould and then load the mould onto a weld machine, manufactured by Herfurth, to complete the product.

The SCARA then offloads the finished product from the welder and places it ready for packing.

With up to five-axes capability, the SR-654HSP has achieved traversing rates of 300mm in 0.63s, carrying a 2kg payload.

The robot's reinforced arm can handle up to 10kg with reduced acceleration, or 5kg at full capacity.

The SR-654HSP is also extremely accurate, offering repeatability to within +/-0.02mm, using parallel processing to offer smooth, fast motion.

The robot's SR7000 controller integrates easily with other industrial automation equipment and is capable of simultaneously processing input and output signals during robot motion.

Therefore, no time is wasted while signal processing is completed.

The controller uses absolute encoder feedback, obviating the need to implement a zero return on start up following a shut down. Request a free brochure from TM Robotics (Europe) ...
