TM Robotics, Toshiba Machine's industrial robots partner, has been helping children learn how to build, program and operate intelligent robots, at an exciting school-based project near Manchester Taking place at Wilmslow High School, Cheshire, from 29th July to 9th August, SciTech:02 was an opportunity for children aged 4 to 14 to experience science and technology in a safe, hands-on environment

SciTech offers a range of workshops to meet a number of curricular goals - all with an emphasis on participation and fun.

TM Robotics volunteered to supply its new TH-350 industrial SCARA robot and also train SciTech staff for the project.

This allowed the children to have hands-on programming time with a robot normally used in high precision assembly lines.

"Children are extremely receptive to teaching provided that they receive security, stimulation, confidence and enthusiasm", explained Nigel Smith, Managing Director of TM Robotics.

"This project harnessed these components in order to provide children with a profound learning experience that will hopefully lead to a continued hunger to learn about science and technology".

Toshiba's involvement in this project was assisted by Telford based Evershed Robotics, Toshiba's longest serving European robotics partner.

This association with SciTech will continue, with future projects already planned. Request free introductory details about products from TM Robotics (Europe) ...
