New Toshiba Machine software from TM Robotics makes system integration work simple thanks to its range of functions.

The software can control any of Toshiba Machine's Scara or Cartesian robots.

Easy programming is the key to system integration and the new TSPC software speeds up and simplifies the development of robot programmes.

It allows the use of a personal computer instead of an FDD (floppy disc drive) unit.

Editing, storage and syntax checking can all be conducted on a PC.

Operations such as program selection, cycle-on, cycle-stop and execution are also simple using a personal computer.

Communication can also be performed using a teach pendant allowing simple diagnostics, on site maintenance, and precise programming.

Features include an intuitive Windows style program editor and a similarly intuitive data editor.

Program selection is accomplished via a dropdown menu while cycle time testing, accurate to a fraction of a second, allows advance verification of all robot programmes.

A grammar check function verifies that correct file names are in used when programming, eliminating mistakes.

Variable values can be used when creating the robot program and program execution is displayed in real time.

A 3D simulation-display allows plant engineers to check robot motion in advance.

Furthermore, I/O status can be checked in real time, significantly improving the debugging process.

"There are relatively few integrators in the UK who fully understand the potential savings that robot automation can bring", said Nigel Smith, Managing Director of TM Robotics.

"Hopefully the simplicity of this software will help educate a few doubters".
