Trio Motion Technology has packed four axes of servo or stepper control into a tiny new DIN-rail mounting motion controller measuring just 107mm x 182mm x 53mm

By using advanced FPGA techniques and a 120MHz DSP, Trio Motion Technology has packed four axes of servo or stepper control into a tiny new DIN-rail mounting motion controller measuring just 107mm x 182mm x 53mm The new MC206 controller also features an encoder follower input and provision for adding a fifth axis via an optional daughter board

Configuring the versatile MC206 for either stepper or servo control is easily accomplished by using a simple feature-enable code to unlock the axes required - all of the necessary circuitry is already installed and ready for use, To provide additional flexibility, any axis not used in the hardware can he configured as a virtual axis for applications such as camming and on-the-fly registration adjustment.

User programs for the MC206 are written using Trios established multi-tasking BASIC language, in conjunction with the powerful MotionPerfect software development package which is available for free download from the Trio website.

The MC206 can run up to five application programs concurrently.

with pre-emptive multi-tasking.

The command interface also runs concurrently with the programs, allowing easy live monitoring of program parameters and variables.

To further enhance their versatility.

MC206 controllers are equipped with 16 digital I/O channels (8 inputs plus 8 bi-directional), and I/O capacity can he readily expanded using Trio CANbus digital and analogue accessory modules.

An industry-standard Modbus interface allows easy integration of operator panels.

A high-speed registration input is also provided on each axis to assist with the accurate control of print and packaging lines, Trio Motion Technology's MC206 controllers feature comprehensive communication facilities.

As standard, they are fitted with two RS 232 serial ports, an RS 485 port.

a TTL serial port, a USB port and a CAN channel.

Adaptors are available to convert the TTL port for use with Trio's fibre-optic network.

A removable flash memory module can also be used to provide a simple means of transferring programs without a PC connection.

UK-based Trio Motion Technology specializes in the design and manufacture of user-friendly, cost-effective motion control products for industrial and commercial applications.

All product development is carried out in-house, and the company's reputation for fast response to user requirements, coupled with outstanding product quality, has enabled it to achieve substantial success in all of the worlds main markets, including Europe and North America.
