The Jacknut threaded insert is an economical blind fastener for use even in thin, soft, or brittle materials - even Perspex.

The Jacknut threaded insert is an economical blind fastener for use even in thin, soft, or brittle materials - even Perspex.

Designed for use in situations with access from only one side it also finds uses in wider applications where a deep reusable thread is needed because of its tolerance of soft materials.

When tightened, the Jacknut body is designed to undergo controlled deformation: forming arms grip the inside of the surface to prevent rotation, thus providing a permanent, reliable thread.

Produced in steel, with a range of both unified and metric threads, it is useful in single applications or on assembly line operations for which pneumatic and hand tools are obtainable.

A special corrosion-resistant finish is available with extended life of up to three times that of the standard zinc chromate.

The insert is designed so that it can accommodate a wide range of material thicknesses, is not hole-size sensitive, and fastens securely despite burrs or uneven substrates.
