Flow meters insert and retract under pressure
Torbar Flowmeters' HotTap averaging pitot tube flow meters have been developed for safe and easy insertion and retraction in pressurised pipelines where units need to be removed for inspection.
Torbar Flowmeters' HotTap averaging pitot tube flow meters have been developed for safe and easy insertion and retraction in pressurised pipelines where units need to be removed for inspection, or during pipeline cleaning and maintenance processes.
Suitable for liquid, steam and gas flow measurement the Torbar HotTap is available with threaded fittings for high or low pressure, and flanged for higher pressure ratings with ball or gate process isolation valves.
For durability and reliability pressure chambers and draw bolts are stainless steel with graphite ribbon or Teflon gland packing.
An option is a geared retraction assembly comprising two pairs of precision crossed-axis stainless-steel/aluminium bronze gear sets within specially machined stainless steel blocks for accurate positioning and smooth action.
The assemblies were designed in conjunction with gear specialist Davall.
The standard range of Torbar meters is available for pipelines from 50mm to 3m diameter at pressures up to 100bar and temperatures up to 450C.
Standard construction is 316L stainless steel and the design allows exotic metals and other materials to be specified.
All units are manufactured to BS, ANSI, ASME, ISO and DIN standards.
Material test certificates to EN10204 (DIN50049), pressure test, and conformity certificates are available for each instrument.
