Following the onerous procedure of showing compliance with the Pressure Equipment Directive PED 97/23/EC Lloyds Register has granted Torbar Flowmeters certification.

Following the onerous procedure of showing compliance with the Pressure Equipment Directive PED 97/23/EC Lloyds Register has granted Torbar Flowmeters certification.

Furthermore the PED analysis established that the Torbar multi-port, self-averaging pitot tube flow meters were compliant without the need for any modifications to the design or construction.

Now all Torbar products are CE marked as mandatory in the EC but the same standards, already established by Torbar, will also apply to products for world markets where the company is also very active.

The certification is required for any item with a volume greater than 500cm3, and is subject to pressures of 0.5bar or more.

The standard range of Torbars is available for pipelines from 50mm to 8m diameter at pressures up to 100bar and temperatures up to 500C, for threaded, flanged and 'hot-tap' fittings.

Integral valve manifolds and temperature sensors provide for direct mounting of DP transmitters and for mass flow measurement.

Standard construction is 316L stainless steel and the design allows exotic metals and other materials to be specified.

All units are manufactured to BS, ANSI, ASME, ISO and DIN standards.

Material test certificates to EN10204 (DIN50049), pressure test, and conformity certificates are available for each instrument.
