Crompton Small Motors has recently been accredited with certification to the European Environmental Standard ISO14001.

Crompton Small Motors has recently been accredited with certification to the European Environmental Standard ISO14001 The Doncaster business has also recently joined the Inside UK Enterprise Scheme which promotes best practice expertise and innovative working practice, as a host company

The company changed it's name to Crompton Small Motors in December 2001 having been acquired from Invensys by Tyco Electronics.

Crompton Small Motors manufactures approximately 600,000 motors a year, predominantly customised single- and three-phase AC electric motors with a maximum output of 2kW.

The name change retains the Crompton title which has been part of the company's 'livery' since the plant opened over 60 years ago.

Small Motors is the UK's leading name in AC small electric motors from 5 to 1500W.

Main applications are commercial and light industrial equipment, mostly to specific OEM customer specifications.
