Eurostyle terminal blocks from Tyco Electronics feature a special rising cage clamp design with an extended body enabling a high number of reliable mating and demating cycles.
A comprehensive range of Eurostyle terminal blocks from Tyco Electronics features a special rising cage clamp design with an extended body enabling a high number of reliable mating and demating cycles in field installations.
The connectors comprise one-piece board-mount terminal blocks and plug connectors with straight and right-angle mating shrouded headers.
Both the board-mount connectors and PCB plugs and headers are stackable end-to-end without loss of centreline spacing.
Further, a test probe incorporated into the board-mount connectors provides access to allow technicians to determine if an electrical connection has been made.
A cable insertion tunnel gap of nearly zero millimetres ensures that small wires cannot be inserted into the wrong slot.
Furthermore a double captive screw system prevents screws from being lost.
A key benefit of the design is that the female spring contact is not susceptible to damage during insertion or withdrawal (even with oscillatory movement from the operator) due to parallel arrangement of the contact spring and the oscillating layer.
All lead-free metallic parts of the Eurostyle terminal blocks are nonmagnetic, as they are made of nonferrous copper alloys.
The housing material is self-extinguishing halogen free Polyamide 6.6, which meets UL94V0 requirements, and post tin-plated contacts with nickel underplate allow for use in corrosive environments.
Tyco Electronics' Eurostyle terminal blocks are available with centrelines of 2.54, 3.5, 3.81, 5.0, 5.08, 7.5, 7.62, 10.0 and 10.16mm.
All devices feature VDE, UL and CSA approvals and are interchangeable with most existing products.
The PCB footprint is fully compatible with existing industry standards.
Use of the terminal blocks is very diverse in applications such as HVAC equipment, security and alarm systems, industrial machinery, elevators and escalators, power supplies, process controls and instrumentation.
All Terminal Blocks are supplied with open screws and are 100% functional tested.
