RT series relays from Tyco Electronics combine high power and sensitivity, resulting in devices that are ideal for applications such as domestic appliances, heating control and emergency lighting The RT series relays are available with DC or AC coils

Products in the range include bistable, sensitive, high temperature and high inrush variants.

Applications that require high sensitivity are well supported by the RT series relays.

For example, the RT1 Sensitive relay has a coil sensitivity of 250mW.

Products are available with one C/O or one N/O contact and the coil/contact rating is 5kV/10mm.

Easing the effort to comply with the RoHS hazardous waste directive, coming into force in 2006, the RT series relays use cadmium-free AgNi (90/10) contacts, which can also be offered for low level applications with gold plate.

In addition high inrush versions are available with AgSnO contacts or with tungsten pre-mate contacts in an 800A inrush version, designed for capacitive and lighting type applications.

Key specifications include rated voltage of 250V and rated current levels varying from 8 to 16A, depending on the device and whether it uses a C/O or N/O contact.

Coil voltages are available from 5 to 110V (DC) and 24 to 230V (AC), with nominal coil power for the DC relays of between 0.25 and 0.5W.

A bistable version of the RT1 relay is available, with the option of one or two coils.

The device has a nominal coil voltage from 5 to 24V and a typical coil power of 400mW, with one coil, and 0.6W, for the two-coil device.

The RT series and its variants have a low profile of 15.7mm and are for PCB mounting or on a DIN rail via a screw terminal socket.

Devices in the range can operate at an ambient temperature of up to +105C at rated load. Request a free brochure from Tyco Electronics UK ...
