The collar locks over the mated connection to prevent access to the release mechanism of the mated connectors.

It allows tooled extraction, requiring only a small flathead screwdriver to be inserted into a slot in the collar for release.

Made of durable plastic (UV rated to F-1), the connector latch locking collars meet NEC 2008 Article 690.33(c) requirements as well as the recommendations of Section 609 of the 2008 National Electrical Code for positive-locking protection with tooled extraction.

The collar also meets UL 1741 photovoltaic requirements as a photovoltaic connector accessory to the Solarlok connector product line.

The locking collar is designed for exposed mated cable couplers and will be required in any accessible photovoltaic location in the US where mated cable connectors are exposed, including wire-to-wire applications and wire-to-junction box applications where connectorised boxes are used.
