A new range of sanitary couplings, available from Tom Parker, are said to simplify sanitary connections by providing simple, secure, push-together fittings.

Manufactured by CPC, the company claims that they will make pharmaceutical and bioprocessing systems easier to use by replacing old-style fittings that require a laborious four-stage connection process.

An easy-to-use thumb latch enables quick disconnections, and an audible click on reconnection assures the user of a secure, leak-free connection.

Made from medical-grade polysulphone the new couplings meet the most stringent quality standards and remain leak-free throughout repeated cycles of autoclave, EtO, Gamma or E-Beam sterilisation.

They are available to fit 3/4" mini and 1" maxi sanitary fittings with a choice of 0.21", 0.29" or 0.5" flow diameters.

Typical applications for the new couplings will include: pharmaceutical and bioprocessing laboratories, fermentation systems, bio reactors, filtration equipment, pilot plants, cell-culture media transfer and food processing equipment.
