PM Plastic couplings have automatic shut-off valve

A Tom Parker product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Dec 1, 2000

A new range of durable plastic couplings with automatic shut-off valves, for leak-free disconnections, have been launched by Tom Parker of Preston.

The new APCD couplings have been added to the company's existing range of plastic quick-disconnect couplings for use in a wide range of fluid handling applications.

The couplings are lightweight and easy to use with a plastic thumb-latch design for simple, one-handed disconnection.

An audible click when the coupling re-engages assures the user of a secure, leak-free connection, and a plastic shroud helps to prevent accidental disconnections.

The new couplings operate at pressures of up to 8.3 bar and within a temperature range of -40 to 82C.

They are available in standard sizes with a variety of terminations including; pipe threads, ferruless polytube-fittings and hose-barbs with both in-line and elbow configurations.
