Toolcraft Plastics of Swindon has helped several companies experiencing difficulties downsizing to improve supply of plastic components by closing the in-house facility and transferring production to Toolcraft.

Toolcraft has taken on the tools, upgrading where necessary and in some cases even purchasing their machines.

For the client companies this offers a facility more able to cope with changing demand, clearing factory space and for one company assisting creation of clean areas by removing one of the less "clean" manufacturing facilities.

Further, in addition to easing the economic situation it has proved particularly useful where there is a shortage of experienced staff, as Toolcraft has brought both production and design experience to the job.

Of particular concern to many was the need for a supply of parts without disruption to production lines.

Toolcraft, with considerable experience of taking over other companies' tooling, have overcome this by using adaptors to enable easy loading to their own machines, reducing down time, even permitting some manual tools to be run automatic.

In one particular case where some 30 tools had been damaged in a factory fire, Toolcraft refurbished and had all 30 running within two weeks.
