The successful candidate(s) will be funded for up to two years with a highly competitive salary.
There are 14 priority research areas for the Fellowship Programme in 2007-08 including security, multimedia, Internet, software, simulation and water treatment.

Japan is one of the most technologically advanced countries in the world, making it the perfect location for newly qualified scientists looking for the ultimate work experience challenge.
The successful candidate(s) will be based in Toshiba's Corporate Research and Development Centre in the city of Kawasaki, Japan's prosperous "Silicon Valley".
Toshiba is the first private company to establish such a programme.
The research fellowship, established in 1983, is supported by the EPSRC (Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council).

Toshiba welcomes its new fellows when they arrive in Japan and two will be traveling to Tokyo shortly to begin their programmes.
Once completed, all fellows are lifelong Toshiba Fellowship Alumni members, with regular opportunities to network with one another and with their former Toshiba colleagues.
The closing date for applications is 15th December 2006.
