A visit to Total could be a wise investment

A Total Processing and Packaging product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Feb 24, 2004

Total Processing and Packaging 2004 will open the doors to the latest innovations on offer from over 1300 suppliers of processing and packaging products and systems worldwide.

The Confederation of British Industry (CBI) reports that the UK's manufacturing output has increased at its strongest rate for eight years.

According to the CBI, the improvement in UK manufacturing can be attributed to the pick-up in the global economy and strong economic growth in the UK in the last quarter of 2003.

The UK retail sector is also in good shape, with strong performance reported in the last part of 2003.

The slump in the global economy since 2001 has meant that many companies have tended to put their investment projects on hold, or at least to scale them down but with business optimism reported to be at its highest level since 2002, there are now clear signs that business will be investing in their processes and upgrading with the latest technology.

As one of the largest international industrial events, Total Processing and Packaging 2004 (Birmingham NEC, 29th March to 1st April 2004) will open the doors to the latest innovations on offer from over 1300 suppliers of processing and packaging products and systems worldwide.

For visitors interested in processing and production equipment, for example, technologies covered will include drives and motors, sensors and instrumentation equipment, pumps, weighing equipment, automation and control and process control and validation systems.

"The findings of the CBI provide an encouraging signal for producers of goods in the UK and will hopefully help to kick-start a long overdue recovery in the manufacturing and production sector", says Barbara Jackson, Exhibition Director, Reed Exhibitions.

"The fact that we already have over 1300 exhibitors signed up and anticipate over 35,000 visitors at the show is an indication that companies are interested in finding ways to enhance their productivity and competitiveness".

Created through the amalgamation of Eurochem, Interphex, Pakex and the PPMA Show, Total promises to be the place to go to get a single point of access to everything connected with processing and packaging applications across a wide range of industries and applications.
