The British Pump Manufacturers Association (BPMA) has signed up to support Total Processing and Packaging at the UK NEC from 29th March until 1st April 2004.

The show will provide the BPMA with a platform for promoting the activities of its membership of pump manufacturers and suppliers.

"Our members serve a wide selection of different industries and are part of a multi-million-pound market in the UK", says Brian Huxley, Director, BPMA.

"With exhibitors and visitors from throughout the processing and packaging industry, TOTAL will provide an excellent international platform for the BPMA to demonstrate its support for its members and to communicate their expertise to the widest possible audience".

The BPMA will use its link with Total to raise awareness of the issues concerning the pump market amongst both manufacturers and users.

"There is always interest amongst pump customers in finding the most cost effective solutions for their pumping applications, particularly when it comes to cost of ownership and energy costs", says Huxley.

"For this reason, we are keen to use Total to help emphasise the availability of state of the art, energy efficiency pumping technology capable of delivering high performance with a significantly lower cost of ownership".

The BPMA also aims to take advantage of the increasing number of visitors who are using exhibitions such as Total Processing and Packaging as their main forum for meeting new suppliers.

According to research carried out on behalf of Total 2004 by research group Pira International, 89% of the companies surveyed regarded exhibitions as the place to meet potential new suppliers.

Total Processing and Packaging has been formed through the combination of Eurochem, Interphex, Pakex and the PPMA Show.

The event will provide one of the biggest dedicated processing and packaging events for exhibitors and visitors from a range of sectors including food and beverage, pharmaceutical, chemicals processing and liquids handling.

"Working with the BPMA is part of our strategy of ensuring that we address the issues that are most important to our visitors, whether this be advances in technology, or changes in legislation affecting production operations", says Barbara Jackson, Exhibition Director, Reed Exhibitions.

"Together, we are committed to providing an exhibition that is informative, relevant and meets the needs of the processing and packaging industry".
