Nearly 850 exhibitors from over 30 countries will now take part in Total Processing and Packaging at the NEC from 15th to 18th May2007.

Nearly 850 exhibitors from over 30 countries will now take part in Total Processing and Packaging at the NEC from 15th to 18th May2007.

This latest increase in numbers underlines the exhibition's position as the UK's largest focused show for processing and packaging.

"Our pre-show research has indicated that there is strong spending power among many potential visitors", comment Exhibition Director Ian Crawford.

"Total provides the best opportunity this year for companies to demonstrate their capabilities and provides an excellent forum in which to do business, and clearly many companies have recognised the value of taking part".

With strong support from exhibitors, organisers Reed Exhibitions and PPMA are putting in place a number of features to ensure Total Processing and Packaging is a "must attend" event.

Registration is now open on the show website, where visitors can indicate all products and services in which they are interested in order to receive a list of exhibitors fitting the specified criteria, with links to each company's listing.

At the show, the PPMA is providing a consultancy service for machinery buyers to help companies find the right supplier to meet their specific requirements.

Another popular feature will be the Pakex Bar showcasing the very best achievements of the UK packaging industry over the past 50 years, courtesy of a display of famous packs from the past provided by the Museum of Brands, Packaging and Advertising.

A series of seminars on RFID will shed light on this emerging technology while the latest developments in pack design and materials will be highlighted at the Packaging Innovation Show.

A full seminar programme organised by IOP: The Packaging Society will take place as part of this feature.

"Open innovation in consumer packaging" is split into a series of sessions covering the packaging needs of Brand Owners; Retailers; and Consumers; as well the design function; global and regional trends; smart and intelligent packaging; and machinery designs of the future.

Companies taking part include Unilever, Tesco, Asda and United Biscuits.

"We want to ensure that time spent visiting Total Processing and Packaging is time well spent, bringing informed prospects to exhibitor stands", says Crawford.

"We look forward to welcoming both exhibitors and visitors to the NEC in May".
