Barrel mixer gives rapid payback
Pneumix is a novel barrel mixing and dispensing system that overcomes the drawbacks associated with conventional mixing systems.
Pneumix is a novel barrel mixing and dispensing system that overcomes the drawbacks associated with conventional mixing systems Designed and developed in the UK by Tapflo, Pneumix was targeted primarily for the paint and ink industry where most raw materials contained in drums or containers settle out over time and need to be mixed or blended prior to use

Pump mixes and dispenses in one go
Tapflo has developed a novel mixing technology that uses no blades, no shear, no air entrainment, and no motor.
Pumps keep in the mix at print works
Tapflo pumps and the company's new Pneumix technology are maintaining correct mixing and despatching at a large print works.
This usually involves either rolling or shaking the barrel or pumping the liquid into a separate mixing vessel before dispensing.
This causes waste and mess and results in unnecessary product handling and therefore valuable production time.
Pneumix consists of a mixer pipe that fits securely into the fill-hole of the container.
The length and diameter of the pipe depends on the size of the vessel and the nature of the pumped liquid.
A Tapflo air-operated double-diaphragm pump forces the liquid through the mixer pipe at the required rate to provide optimum agitation for the specific product.
After the mixing process, the pump can be used as a dispenser only or mix and dispense simultaneously simply by the switching of a valve.
The system, which suits all containers up to 1000 litre IBC, uses no moving parts in the form of paddles or rotating blades and the pneumatic operation and control means that no electrical power is necessary.
No modifications are required to the barrel and various mixer pipes and pumps are available to cater for a wide range of materials.
Pneumix offers an ideal solution for hazardous, sensitive or volatile products because enclosed product handling means no spillage.
This reduces exposure to staff and the environment and contributes towards a clean and safe working environment with minimum waste.
The first installation, a 32-barrel system, for a major international paper company, is now operating with great success resulting in improved efficiency and product quality.
Pneumix is now being sold throughout the world by the distribution network of the Swedish parent company Tapflo.
