The new CT pump is aimed mainly at such industries as foodstuffs, pharmaceuticals and chemicals where, light, low-viscous liquids are handled.

Tapflo is launching a centrifugal pump called CT in acid-proof steel and constructed from very few components.

The pump is almost maintenance free and its design makes it easy to service should this be needed.

The new CT pump is aimed mainly at such industries as foodstuffs, pharmaceuticals and chemicals where, light, low-viscous liquids are handled.

The pump is fitted with an open impeller and can be used with liquids containing particles up to 6mm in size.

CT pumps are designed for use with standard IEC motors and the price of the unit can be kept low owing to its construction incorporating few components.

The new CT pump from Tapflo is a horizontal centrifugal pump developed for the handling of low-viscous liquids, a property facilitated by the pump being constructed of acid-proof steel (AISI316).

The CT pump can be used with all kinds of liquid from sludge content water, oil and solvents to alcohol, pharmaceuticals and foodstuffs.

The pump comes in nine sizes with flow capacities up to 50m3/h and a maximum head of 51m.

The open impeller allows solid particles of up to 6mm and somewhat larger soft particles to pass through.

The Tapflo CT pump is suitable for ordinary IEC standard motors and can be used for new installations or to replace worn out pumps.

"Thanks to the simple design combined with very low maintenance costs and a low purchase price we are looking at excellent opportunities for large sales volumes all around the world", says Mick Barnes, MD of Tapflo UK.

"In normal operating conditions our new CT pump is almost maintenance free and can be used in most industries needing equipment to pump low-viscous liquids".

Depending on the kind of liquid to be handled, the CT pump's mechanical seal between motor and pump is available in different materials for optimum efficiency and life time.

The pump is made in stamped steel providing durability and light weight.

Pumps are available with flow capacities from 2 to 50m3/h.

Connection dimensions are 1, 1.5 and 2in (as per BSP or SMS) with other connection dimensions available on demand.
