ABB has published an "ATEX jargon buster" that helps motor users cut through the jungle of terms and definitions that make up the new ATEX Directives.
The breakfast-time event, held at the 96.6TFM Darlington Arena, was attended by more than 100 individuals, from engineering organisations, educational establishments and local government, who were all keen to support the engineering sector and ensure it had a sustainable future in the Tees Valley economy.
During the ninety minute session, John, Wilf and Paul each spoke of their respective company's plans, including current projects and those expected to commence in 2007 and beyond.
Malcolm Potter, Manager of the Tees Valley Engineering Partnership, also addressed the specially invited audience on the TVEP's plans for the coming year, with a pledge to continue supporting local engineering organisations, through events, forums, networking and publicity.

Project Preview 2007 was sponsored by Balfour Beatty Management, the professional services division of Balfour Beatty, which launched its regional office in the Tees Valley less than a year ago.
Ian Basford, Director of Balfour Beatty Management in the North-East, said: 'Our move into the Tees Valley came at exactly the right time and I am continually reminded of how sound this decision was, when I see the massive investment that is now ongoing in the area".
"Historically the Tees Valley is the home of engineering in the UK and it is clear from what I have heard at the TVEP event that we can all play a very important role its future".
Malcolm Potter, Manger of the Tees Valley Engineering Partnership, said: "The purpose of Project Preview 2007 was to create a culture whereby local firms can share their targets and ambitions, in a way that will collectively steer the industry forward through 2007 and beyond".
"Whilst our region's engineering firms are in competition with one another, there is a synergistic influence which drives the engineering skills and engineering capability of the Tees Valley into a global market place".
"I hope that after hearing from Amec, Whessoe and Sabic UK Petrochemicals that this will inspire more Tees Valley firms to become members of the TVEP, strive for success and work together to further emphasize the region as a area of outstanding world class capability".
