Now available from Trident Engineering is the 9000 series iron core motor from Portescap that provides a performance close to that of an ironless motor.
New controller cracks low speed DC drive problem
Trident's e-motion SCA-B4-70-10 for brushless motors and SCA-SS-70-10 for brushed DC can achieve near resolver like accuracy performance but at a lower cost to customers.
Under the terms of the agreement Trident will stock the API Motion products in large quantities at its headquarters in Winnersh, near Wokingham, Berkshire and sell them exclusively in the UK for all quantities up to 500 pieces.
Trident managing director, Graham Oldland explained the importance of the agreement: "This is a major development for Trident.
We have built a reputation for quality service over the past 32 years and part of that service is to hold high levels of stock so that we can offer our customers prompt delivery in both prototype and production quantities.
"Portescap has always offered high performance motor products but this will be the first time they have been held in stock in such quantities in the UK.
The API products together with complementary motors and accessories that we offer from Canon, Trident, Igarashi and e-motion mean that we have never offered a wider range and this allows us to meet our objective of supplying the total solution for small DC motors".
General manager of API Motion, Jonathan Rumbol added: "This partnership with Trident Engineering, a name that is synonymous with fractionless horsepower motor technology, will further strengthen API Motion's position in the motion solutions market place.
Trident is a customer oriented organisation with customer service and speed to the market being the clear drivers of the business.
Holding large stocks in the UK will enable Trident to react quickly to customer demands and provide fast deliveries that are particularly important for prototypes, pre-production and service replacement motors.
"Both companies will work closely together and utilise all available resources to ensure that the partnership becomes a dominant UK force in this type of motor technology.".
