Iron core motor has benefits of an ironless design
Now available from Trident Engineering is the 9000 series iron core motor from Portescap that provides a performance close to that of an ironless motor.
The use of rare earth magnets (NeFe or SmCo) creates high efficiencies and high performance for unit size.
When attached to a 13mm planetary gearhead the 13BC will provide a continuous output torque of 300mNm.
Capable of speeds up to 20,000rpm, the 13BC is ideal for applications that need rugged spindle drives at very high speeds.
The sensorless 3-phase design means that it is suitable for drivers such as the Phillips TDA 5144.
With the various combinations available, this family of motors meets the demands of many market sectors and will find use in medical hand tools, robotics and instrumentation as well as respirators where long motor and battery life are essential.
