The 08G is a new Portescap 8mm diameter, ironless, motor that is available in the UK from Trident Engineering.

Producing up to 50% more torque than other motors of comparable size, this tiny package can, in many instances, replace conventional 10mm motors making it possible for equipment designers to achieve new levels of miniaturisation without compromising product performance.

Delivering an output power of 700mW at speeds of up to 11,600 rpm, the 08G is ideal for use in medical equipment such as peristaltic and infusion pumps, semiconductor manufacturing plant, security products and similar demanding applications.

It is available in two lengths, 16 and 19mm, and is offered with a wide range of winding and output shaft options.

The 08G combines a patented electro-erosion reduction system, which ensures exceptional reliability and long life, with the proven benefits of ironless technology.

This produces a motor with low inertia, rapid acceleration and high operating efficiency while eliminating magnetic saturation effects that, in other types of motor, can limit performance when operating at peak torque levels.
