Troax UK is launching a new version of its Safe Lock mechanical interlocking system, which offers important new safety features to improve physical protection for workers in industrial environments where automated machinery is in operation.
The Safe Lock 1088 provides safe, authorised access to machine guarding enclosures, ensuring that doors to protected zones can only be locked or unlocked from the outside and preventing personnel from being trapped inside the zone.
To further improve safety, the locking system now offers an additional safety mechanism which prevents it from being overridden by unauthorised personnel and so ensures a higher level of physical protection for employees.
With this new model, a specially designed steel screen protects the locking switch and prevents tampering with a grip, wire or screwdriver, making interference virtually impossible.
The new Safe Lock 1088 retains all its original safety features such as an anti-entrapment lever that allows anyone to escape from the safety enclosure in the unlikely event of becoming trapped.
Furthermore, all Safe Locks can be locked open - when the operator leaves the protected zone, the door is secured in the open position using a padlock.
This prevents any unauthorised person from reclosing the door and restarting the machine.
Versatile and easy to install, the patented Safe Lock 1088 is designed for use with both swing and sliding doors and is available in three- or four-state versions to cover the complete range of door locking and industrial safety requirements.
The new Safe Lock 1088 can only be supplied in conjunction with Troax's door system which is constructed from Troax's Safe T machine guarding panels.
The complete door and locking system is supplied pre-assembled for easy installation.
Safe Lock 1088 complies with all relevant EU directives and European Norms, including European Machinery Directive 98/37, safety standard EN 1088, decree 96-725 and EN 954-1.
