Troax partitioning creates cleanroom complex

A Troax product story

Troax's new Toledo modular cleanroom partitioning system has been used to create a high quality cleanroom complex for a leading manufacturer within the electronics industry.

Troax's new Toledo modular cleanroom partitioning system has been used to create a high quality cleanroom complex for a leading manufacturer within the electronics industry.

The new 200 sq metre cleanroom area has been installed at the company's manufacturing facility in Dorset.

A replacement for the previous manufacturing facility on the site which was damaged by fire last year, the new cleanroom has been divided into separate areas, each used for the manufacture of state-of-the-art electronics.

Troax carried out the project in conjunction with principal contractor Image Commercial Interiors who also installed flooring, ceilings and air handling equipment at the site to ensure a controlled cleanroom environment.

As well as the steel partitioning panels, double glazed panels were also incorporated into the design to create a light and airy working area.

Toledo's modular construction proved to be a particular advantage, offering a high degree of flexibility in design and enabling the new cleanroom to be adapted and fitted to suit the buildings and layout of the existing site.

And because the existing partitioning in the building had also been supplied by Troax, old and new partitioning was compatible and therefore straightforward to connect.

Explains Glenn Brooks at Image Commercial Interiors: "We specified Troax's Toledo system for this project as it was exactly the right product to provide the high quality, controlled cleanroom environment required by our customer and it also offered an extremely cost-efficient solution for this potentially complex construction.

"The overall quality of the system, with its flush lines and glazing, offered the high level of construction needed for the customer's manufacturing requirements".

"And Toledo's modular design helped enormously when integrating the new cleanroom with the existing site.

The Toledo range has a standard specification comprising monobloc construction of sheet steel enclosing an inert non-particle shedding core.

It incorporates a number of design features to prevent the collection of particles and ensure easy to clean, smooth surfaces.

In particular, the system's two line junction has a flush line cover channel and a flush line double glazing system, resulting in minimal ledges, corners and flush surfaces.

Continues Glenn Brooks: "Troax's service was first class".

"They provided everything we could possibly have needed to complete the project, even carrying out modifications to help us meet site requirements - they were thoroughly professional from start to finish.

Toledo cleanroom partitioning is the first of a comprehensive new range from Troax that is designed to provide a cleanroom solution for virtually any application, from electronics and semiconductor, pharmaceutical, healthcare and aerospace to hospital, optics, precision engineering, automotive, food and drink and sterile packaging industries.
