Interlock system improves physical protection
A new version of the Safe Lock mechanical interlock system offers new features designed to improve physical protection for workers in industrial environments where automated machinery is in operation.
As part of a reconfiguration and refurbishment of Delphi's existing facilities on the site, Delphi brought in contractor Nixon and Gallagher to construct a series of offices, meeting rooms and storage areas, using Troax's modular, double skin steel partitioning.
The new office complex, which measures approximately 1000 square metres in total, is located on the busy factory floor so durability and insulation were important factors in the choice of partitioning system.
Excalibur double skin partitioning was specified for the project as it provides a high level of sound and heat insulation while its high quality powder coated finish is hardwearing and attractive.
The Excalibur panels were supplied in a combination of full steel and single glazed versions.
There were also a number of specially designed features incorporated into the construction of the office complex to meet the specific requirements of the site.
Nixon and Gallagher installed a raised floor to accommodate computer cabling while Troax supplied custom-built doors, wider than their standard design, to allow access for certain types of equipment.
Comments Mark Nixon at Nixon and Gallagher: "Troax's Excalibur partitioning is an excellent product - it looks good, it's durable and hardwearing and its double skin construction provides excellent sound and heat insulation, making it an ideal solution for this type of factory environment".
"We've used Troax for a long time and have always been very happy with their service - they're reliable, always deliver on time and their technical support and manufacturing service are first rate.".
