New premises expand rapid prototyping scope
3T RPD has moved into new purpose-built premises, giving an impressive 1200m2 of manufacturing, workshop, office and conference facilities.
As a result of five years unparalleled growth in the UK rapid prototyping industry, 3T RPD has moved into new purpose-built premises, giving an impressive 1200m2 of manufacturing, workshop, office and conference facilities.
Having outgrown its previous unit, the company is still located on New Greenham Park in Newbury, as the new building is just 100 metres away.
The company's growth is further compounded by the recent installation of a third EOS P700 laser sintering machine.
With the suite comprising a further two EOS P360's and a DTM Hi-Q 2500 Plus, the company remains unchallenged as the UK's largest SLS provider.
The new premises provide a substantial increase in machine and workshop space, enabling 3T to build on its already extensive bespoke finishing services.
With additional post-processing workshops and paint facilities, skilled modelmakers ensure every last detail is taken care of, generating models that are comparable to the final manufactured item.
Additional office, meeting and conference facilities are also provided at the new site, and the successful series of rapid product development seminars will recommence early in the New Year.
Having proved extremely popular in the past, they will continue to provide an informative, unbiased overview on how to achieve successful new product development through rapid prototyping.
3T's suite of six SLS machines, together with its comprehensive range of SLS materials, means it is uniquely able to apply the optimal machine and material to meet customers' rapid prototyping needs.
Building large, single piece parts on their EOS P700's up to 700 x 380 x 580mm gives optimum material properties when the component is to undergo aggressive functional testing.
With highly trained engineers who are experts in their field, 3T consistently produces accurate, functional parts with the best surface finish and mechanical properties that SLS technology can provide, in the shortest lead-times possible.
Ian Halliday, CEO at 3T RPD, says: "We are delighted with our new facility, and this move further consolidates our position as the UK's largest SLS provider".
"Our continuous growth over the last five years has put us at the forefront of major developments in e-manufacturing; the fast, flexible and cost-effective way of producing otherwise 'impossible' end-use parts directly from CAD data, with no tooling required".
"Our emphasis is on providing excellent quality of product and service, alongside rapid and totally reliable delivery, whilst remaining competitive on price".
