Torit DCE has launched an innovative dust collection solution that offers performance comparable to top end, sintered polyethylene technologies, but at a capital cost in the region of 20% less.

Called Unicell Tetratex the new system is suited to the collection of a wide range of fine dust, from free-flowing discreet particle through to those which have a tendency to agglomerate, providing near 100% collection efficiency on particles exceeding 3æ.

Furthermore, because the surface nature of the element remains flexible, dust cake release is significantly improved over more rigid media, allowing for increased air flows and lower operating differential pressures.

The results in reduced operating costs, minimal maintenance and increased plant efficiency.

Torit DCE anticipates typical applications for the new Unicell Tetratex system to be in key areas such as food, pharmaceutical and chemical manufacture, as well as more specialist areas such as ceramic, concrete, gypsum, cement and clay product manufacturing and processing.

In essence, the new Unicell Tetratex solution brings together Torit DCE's proven spun bonded polyester media, with a unique Tetratex ePTFE (expanded polytetrafluoroethylene) membrane.

The Tetratex membrane is laminated to the surface of the spun bonded media, changing its characteristics from one of conventional depth filtration to surface filtration.

This ensures the highest levels of filtration efficiency are met whilst retaining the varied dust loading characteristics of more conventional fabric media.

The resultant element has excellent chemical stability and moisture resistance, as well as being dimensionally stable.

As a consequence, the Unicell Tetratex solutions competes effectively in applications where traditionally, only sintered polyethylene technologies could offer the required longevity and performance.

Torit DCE is so confident in the performance characteristics of the new Unicell Tetratex system that it is offering a 3 year warranty as standard on the product where full application criteria is known.

"Our new Unicell Tetratex system combines the best of two proven technologies to create a brand new solution," says Andy Millward, European Marketing Manager at Torit DCE.

"The new system does not replace existing products in our proven Unicell family, but rather brings new dimensions of performance to the range, opening up new areas of opportunity for the brand where, previously, it could not have competed.

Torit DCE is particularly excited to be bringing an excellent new product to market that offers savings in both capital and operating costs, while maintaining performance comparable with previously unbeatable technologies.

The deliverable benefits to the user in terms of both profitability and performance are clear.".
