Measuring instrument has many functions

A Testo product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Mar 11, 2002

A novel measuring system offers the user the mobility of a compact, handheld measuring instrument with the advantages of a flexible industrial monitoring system.

Within manufacturing and industry, consultant engineers and project managers often have to record a variety of data types simultaneously at different points.

Measuring requirements can differ substantially from project to project and be of short or long duration, so flexibility and ease of configuration are paramount.

The new Testo 454 measuring system offers the user the mobility of a compact, handheld measuring instrument with the advantages of a flexible industrial monitoring system - and there is no compromise on accuracy nor reliability.

The system incorporates up to 200 channels, with the number of probe sockets determined by the user for simultaneous measurements.

Six user-selectable readings are shown in the graphics display and additional readings can be called up at the touch of a button.

With the Testo 454 it is possible to measure and record any combination of the following parameters: temperature, m/s, RH, differential pressure, absolute pressure, CO, CO2, rpm, current and voltage.

An integrated printer gives a hard copy of the data directly on site, or data can be transferred to a PC for analysis and processing purposes.

The Testo 454 is ideally suited to complex technical projects, which by their very nature have bespoke measuring requirements.

As well as offering flexible combinations of recording parameters and recording channels, it can be easily reconfigured to meet new requirements making it a cost-effective measuring system even for short-term projects.

During the development and testing phase of a new product, it is often necessary to record different parameters simultaneously.

User-friendly software enables analysis of the relationships between individual parameters.

Industrial processes often require the monitoring of several production steps.

Using Testo 454 as a data logging system, it is possible to record data long-term at several specific locations.

This data can then be analysed via the control unit or on a PC.

It is essential that the service and maintenance of production plant is carried out quickly and reliably to minimise downtime.

The Testo 454 is a flexible system, which can speedily be configured and reconfigured to measure different combinations of parameters.
