Testo has supplied a leading domestic kitchenware company with approximately 2000 Testo 106 penetration thermometers since December 2001, with a retail value in excess of GBP 48,000, and is expecting sales to grow.

Michelle Kershaw, Lakeland's Customer Director, confirmed, "The general public are taking food hygiene extremely seriously, hence the demand for practical equipment such as the Testo 106.

We think it is an essential kitchen accessory and it seems our customers agree!".

The Testo 106 is a professional-class thermometer with a thin, robust measuring tip that is inserted into the item to take the core temperature.

It is simple to use and easy to keep clean, with fast, reliable and accurate readings.

While perfect for checking that food is completely defrosted, poultry is thoroughly cooked and that microwaved food is piping hot throughout, it is extremely versatile in the kitchen and can also be used for checking the temperature of hot oil or making jam, yoghurt, confectionery or wine.

It is also available with a waterproof case and with an alarm for monitoring limit values.
