Data loggers run under all conditions
Testo has formed a dedicated Data Logger Division to provide advice, a single product source and after sales service for data logger customers.
Measuring instrument has many functions
A novel measuring system offers the user the mobility of a compact, handheld measuring instrument with the advantages of a flexible industrial monitoring system.
Premier Fresh Foods required a four-channel temperature-measuring and recording instrument with a temperature range from -25 to +250C.
A probe was required for measuring oven temperature while another probe simultaneously measured the product temperature in order to establish cooking instructions for the new range from Premier Fresh Foods.
Measurements were taken from an electric oven and also a gas oven at the same time, therefore it was essential for the data logger to have four channels as two temperatures were being recorded per oven.
The ability to print readings was a prerequisite, and through discussion and technical advice the option to download data to a PC for further data analysis became a necessity.
The Testo 171-8 data logger has four channels, and is equipped for two different types of thermocouple, Type K for quick action probes for measurements -200 to +1000C, and Type T, for fast accurate probes for measurements from -50 to +350C.
Having confirmed the data logger requirements Read chose the Testo 171-8 data logger and ComSoft software because it was excellent value for money and Testo provided good technical support and back up.
When asked if he would recommend the Testo 171-8 data logger and ComSoft software to others, Read said: "Yes due to the reliability and high quality of the instrument", and that he was equally impressed with the level of customer service and the calibration service that Testo can offer.
"I was impressed with the concern from the Testo team and in particular Mike Spence (Testo's key account manager), to ensure that we bought exactly the right equipment for our purpose", he added.
"It is an integral part of our training that we identify the customers needs and match their requirements to our extensive product portfolio, only then can we supply a solution for our customers.
We are confident that our products will not let our customers down", says Mike Spence, Testo UK Field Sales Manager.
