Novel glass pH probe reduces breakages

A Testo product story

Testo has developed a new pH probe for use with the Testo 230 pH and temperature measuring instrument within the meat processing industry.

Testo has developed a new pH probe for use with the Testo 230 pH and temperature measuring instrument within the meat processing industry.

A novel patent-applied-for design helps to protect and extend the life of the probe.

It incorporates a glass pH probe, fully embedded in a break proof plastic sleeve.

The glass pH probe is slightly loose inside its casing in order to reduce bending force exerted on the glass, and for further protection only a few millimetres of the glass extends beyond the sleeve.

In the past, if a glass probe has broken it has proved problematic.

And clearly in a food processing setting, should a glass probe break off in a meat carcass, the meat would effectively be contaminated and unusable.

The Testo probe significantly reduces the chances of breakage and makes the pH probe much easier and safer to use in meat processing applications.

Used together with the Testo 230 and complementary temperature probes, the new pH probe completes a robust set which will measure all the necessary parameters for this sector of industry.
