To help combat potential damage to compressed air systems, Testo has launched a stationary moisture-measuring instrument that is suitable for use with both refrigeration and adsorption dryers.

The FA 200 will be of interest to any company operating an industrial process that is dependent on air.

High humidity within compressed air ductwork can lead to equipment failure and production downtime.

The new FA 200 is a cost-effective way of guarding against this occurrence.

The FA 200 has a number of potential industry applications.

It permits continuous monitoring of compressed air humidity in transport vehicles, particularly railway vehicles; it checks drying efficiency in refrigeration and adsorption compressed air driers down to -60C for example, for the drying of electronics components; it can be used to check condensate deposit in refrigeration driers up to 2C, providing blast air for foodstuffs.

It can also be used to monitor temperature and humidity in breath.

The unit has been designed with a robust, compact industrial metal housing.

It can be retrofitted to compressed air systems without a disruptive installation procedure.

In fact, its measuring chamber can be plugged straight into a standard adaptor without the need to switch off the air supply.

In addition, the unit's humidity sensor offers longer term, more stable and more accurate measurement than can be achieved by sensors common in other types of competing product.

Models in the FA 200 range can be calibrated anytime on site using a special control calibration set.

Alternatively, using one of Testo's range of reference instruments, the FA 200 can be adjusted via remote keyboard.

This differentiates the FA 200 from competing products, which may need to be returned to the manufacturer annually for recalibration.

In addition to its other functions, the FA 200 can provide constant monitoring of the pressure dew point to help prevent the formation of potentially damaging moisture inside a system.

Testo also supplies the Testo 645 pressure dew point measuring instrument for applications where a portable instrument is desirable.
