Variable speed compressors save on
energy costs
The full range of Compair Rotary Vane and HPC Rotary Screw variable speed compressors are now available from compressed air and pneumatic equipment specialist Thomas Wright Thorite Group.
The full range of Compair Rotary Vane and HPC Rotary Screw variable speed compressors are now available from the compressed air and pneumatic equipment specialist Thomas Wright Thorite Group Variable speed compressors combine a speed inverter, which converts the AC signal to DC and speeds up or slows down the motor, with a pressure transducer to precisely match the compressed air output to demand

Energy savings on the cards at Hallmark
A new HPC direct drive compressor from compressed air specialist Thomas Wright Thorite Group is providing energy efficient operation at Hallmark Cards in Bradford.
The energy efficiency of these new compressors results in worthwhile savings on energy costs for users with fluctuating compressed air requirements.
Potential customers are first surveyed by Thomas Wright Thorite Group's engineers, using data loggers fitted to their existing compressors.
These record amps consumed every 60 seconds, over a seven day period, on graphs and point to whether variable speed compressor replacement would be beneficial.
'It's vital to monitor each customer's existing compressed air requirement over an extended time period,' said sales engineer, Carl Joynes.
'However, it's fair to say that virtually any company with a fluctuating air demand can make major energy savings by switching to variable speed technology.' Dathan Tool and Gauge of Meltham, Huddersfield, have already benefited from a survey and installed a Compair V15 RS compressor.
This not only produces high quality compressed air more economically than before, but also has the capacity to cope with Dathan's planned expansion.
Both the Compair and HPC ranges are eligible for capital allowance grants within the government's Climate Control Levy energy efficiency scheme.
