Getting the measure of tread temperature

A Techmor product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Aug 13, 2008

Single sensor unit collects inner, middle and outer tyre tread temperatures.

The Techmor TS-1 is an all-in-one unit for collecting inner, middle and outer tyre tread temperatures.

The TS-1 uses three digital infra-red sensors with internal microprocessors that compensate for fluctuations in ambient temperature to ensure measurement accuracy.

The TS-1 measures tyre temperatures from -20 to +200C, and outputs a linear analogue voltage or CANbus message.

This lightweight, slim, carbon-fibre design has an outside diameter of just 18mm with a single wire outlet, making it easy to fit in tight places.

The TS-1 runs from a 6-30V DC supply, and is supplied with a 1m cable with an oil- and fuel-resistant jacket and a Deutsch autosport connector.

Applications include suspension tuning, wheel alignment and rolling resistance reduction.
