A range of magnetically coupled external gear pumps offered by Tuthill Pump Group is ideal for water and wastewater treatment chemical metering applications.

They are designed to eliminate such problems as pulsating flow, vapour locking and potential lengthy downtimes as experienced with piston and diaphragm pumps.

They are also easy to control via 4-20mA feedback systems and are accurate to better than 1%.

By providing smooth flow, Tuthill's external gear pumps avoid fluid agitation thereby eliminating the need for pulsation dampers.

The smooth flow also makes the external gear pumps flow meter and residual measurement friendly.

Vapour trapping is avoided as a result of the pumps' flow-through design.

The pumps have a long life expectancy 20kh and, if there is a problem, with only two working parts they are easy to service in the field.

Additional durability is imparted by a robust five-bearing design.

Handling capacities range from 1ml/min to 38 litre/min at pressures ranging to 17bar.

Flow control is speed regulated.

Most standard, variable-speed motors can be employed to drive the pumps.

The pumps are compact units engineered in 316L stainless steel, Hastelloy or titanium.
