TUV Rheinland is a notified body under the Medical Directive and can offer quality system approvals and testing and approvals for a wide range of medical products.
The UK healthcare industry has an annual turnover of approximately GBP 4.5 billion of which GBP 3.0 billion is exported.
Approximately 1800 companies produce everything from bedpans to pacemakers and high tech scanner.
Within the UK, the medical products industry is a major growth area with new startup companies appearing almost daily.
Many new products need certification, both for sale in the EU and in other countries overseas.
