New procedures apply for exports to Saudi Arabia

A TUV Rheinland UK product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Feb 5, 2007

Most products exported to Saudi Arabia will now have to be inspected/tested on arrival in Saudi Arabia.

The Saudi Arabian Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) has confirmed that the current procedure for Certificate of Conformity (CoC) was abolished for imported products effective 30th January 2007.

From this date on, products from all the incoming shipments have to be tested in a local authorised laboratory.

This means that the current procedure of the testing prior to shipment and shipment inspections has been abolished and most products exported to Saudi Arabia will have to be inspected/tested on arrival in Saudi Arabia.

CoCs issued from any company after 29th January 2007 will not be accepted.

CoCs issued before this date can be accepted.

Currently there are no clear guidelines regarding how the new procedures is be implemented.
