The 9th technical seminar of the Institute of Rail Welding will be held at The Riverside Centre in Derby on Thursday 27th April 2006.

"Developments in rail inspection" is the title for the 9th technical seminar of the Institute of Rail Welding, to be held at The Riverside Centre in Derby on Thursday 27th April 2006.

This is a one-day seminar for rail welding personnel and will cover, among other subjects, Network Rail's requirements for rail inspection, development of harmonised training materials for rail welding inspectors, NDT of rails, developments in testing techniques and equipment and modelling of rail defects.

There will also be a presentation on preventative strategy and NDT of rails given by speakers from Network Rail.

A discussion session is also included.

The event is aimed at rail welding and related personnel at all levels.

Previous events in this series have been attended by over 100 people including welders, inspectors, supervisors, trainers, managers, engineers etc.
