Derwent World Patents Index First View (DWPI First View) is now available on Dialog, also a Thomson business, and STN International.
DWPI First View is the new alerting companion file to Derwent World Patents Index (DWPI), the comprehensive database of value-added patent information.
For the first time, DWPI users will receive previews of the latest published patent documents in advance of their inclusion in Derwent World Patents Index.
Searching DWPI First View in combination with Derwent World Patents Index will provide users with a comprehensive overview of global patenting activity.
DWPI First View records contain enhanced bibliographic data for all new patent documents, along with original titles, abstracts, technical drawing images, and English-language abstracts for patents from China, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, and Russia.
"DWPI First View answers our customers' need for early identification and comprehensive coverage of new patent documents.
By searching DWPI First View and DWPI in tandem, customers will receive a complete picture of patent activity", said Brian Tyler, Executive Vice President of Corporate Markets, Thomson Scientific.

DWPI First View will be available on Dialog and STN by the end of March.
To enable customers to familiarise themselves with DWPI First View and discover how easy it is to search and integrate into their existing DWPI searching, users can explore this new resource on Dialog File 331 and STN File WPIFV, with zero connect hour/DialUnits until 1st May 2004.
