Heating cables provide freeze protection

Tyco Thermal Controls has launched the Pyrotenax HAx range of mineral insulated (MI) Alloy 825 series heating cables for freeze protection and temperature maintenance applications in ordinary and hazardous areas (ATEX).

Designed to withstand the most demanding industrial environments for installation on process pipework, tanks and other vessels, Alloy 825 sheathed MI heating cables offer an ideal combination of ruggedness, high temperature capability and corrosion resistance (no more stress corrosion cracking due to chlorides).

They are suitable for a wide variety of heat-tracing applications, especially those with high temperature requirements exceeding the capabilities of polymer insulated (PI) series heating cables.

Pyrotenax HAx Alloy 825 series heating cables can be employed for exposure temperatures up to 650C and a typical power output up to 270W/m.

These new MI heating cables are offered in single and a newly available dual conductor construction.

The use of dual conductor heating cable can significantly reduce total installed cost and simplifies installation.

If supplied as complete factory-terminated MI heating units they can be terminated using most advanced laser welding technology for highest reliability and highest power and temperature requirements.
