Digital metering supports Ethernet
communication

The Integra 1630 DMS with Ethernet module acts as a BACnet/IP server device and may be queried by a BACnet/IP client device which conforms to the BACnet/IP protocol.

Tyco Electronics' Energy Division has released an Crompton Instruments Integra 1630 digital metering system (DMS) with an Ethernet communication module that supports connection to Scada systems using the BACnet/IP protocol The Integra 1630 DMS with Ethernet module acts as a BACnet/IP server device and may be queried by a BACnet/IP client device which conforms to the BACnet/IP protocol

The Ethernet module supports 10Base-T Ethernet communication.

Connection is normally via an Ethernet switch or hub that supports the IEEE802.3 standard at 10/100Mbit/s.

Using static IP address assignment, the IP address is factory set to 192.168.1.100, but may be changed by the user before installation.

BACnet (Building Automation and Control Networking Protocol) is a nonproprietary protocol that has been designed to meet the communication needs of building automation and control systems for applications such as heating, ventilation and air-conditioning control, lighting control, access control, as well as fire detection systems and their associated equipment.

The BACnet protocol provides a mechanism for communication between different pieces of equipment regardless of the particular building service they perform.

Designed to provide cost-effective measurement for all power monitoring applications, the multifunction Integra 1630 DMS provides accuracy of less than 0.2% measurement, display and communication of all major electrical and power quality parameters, including total harmonic distortion (THD) measurement up to the 31st harmonic, true RMS system values, individual current demand, user-programmable system type and an elapsed time counter for connected loads.

The range includes single-phase, three-phase three-wire and three-phase four-wire capability, all selectable at the point of installation.

The Integra 1630 DMS benefits from a user-programmable system configuration as well as programmable VT and CT ratios.

High-contrast red LED displays clearly show each measured parameter.

If a very low profile measurement within the panel is required, a removable bezel is supplied to extend the product forward, reducing rear panel depth.

Integra 1630 DMs' low profile makes it suitable for use in switchgear applications but the device has also been designed for use in distribution systems, generator sets, control panels, energy and building management as well as utility power monitoring.

Further applications include process control, motor monitoring, ground power units and embedded generation. Request a free brochure from Tyco Electronics - Energy Division ...
