Gear pumps promise smooth flow with all materials
The Varisco V series of internal gear pumps is happy handling water thin liquids or high viscosity liquids such as bitumen, molasses, resins, polymers etc.
When a smooth flow is the priority, whether the application involves thin or thick liquids, the choice of pump is critical.
Understanding the rheology of the fluid and obtaining the correct balance between pump and system has allowed The Pump Company to successfully specify and supply the Varisco V series of internal gear pumps on a variety of applications.
The versatility of the pump is such that it is happy handling water thin liquids or high viscosity liquids such as: bitumen, molasses, resins, polymers etc.
Giving a constant capacity that is directly proportional to the rotation speed and virtually independent of the pressure, the pump is able to give a smooth flow without pulsations or pressure peaks which cause vibration or destroy the pumped liquid.
The simplicity of design has only two moving parts: the rotor and idler gear and only one shaft.
The pump is totally reversible and gives full performance in either direction.
The high vacuum created by the pump permits rapid self priming at the maximum height made possible by the physical characteristics of the pumped liquid (temperature, vapour pressure, viscosity etc).
A key feature of the Varisco V series gear pump is the slow speed of rotation coupled with the low rate of wear.
The number of teeth on the rotor and idler are not multiples of the other.
This means that wear is evenly distributed over the gears since each tooth on one gear touches on the other gear the same number of times.
Peak performance can be obtained thanks to the rotor wear adjustment system, thereby maintaining the high volumetric efficiency of the pump.
The heavy duty casings are manufactured in ductile iron, steel or stainless steel.
The pump can be fitted with a variety of sealing options including a magnetic coupling.
Heating jackets as well as single or double relief valves are available, as well as a wide variety of bearing bushes.
The pump can be certified in accordance with the ATEX standard and is suitable for use in the petrochemical industry and can be supplied in accordance with API 676.
