French marine technology to go on show

Sixteen French companies will be exhibiting at the SMM shipbuilding, machinery and marine technology international trade fair that takes place in Germany later in 2004.

The SMM shipbuilding, machinery and marine technology international trade fair will take place in Hamburg, Germany, from 28 September to 2 October 2004, and Ubifrance has been put in charge of organising the French national pavilion It will feature 16 leading French companies in the shipping and marine high-tech field

Ubifrance is organising the first French pavilion at SMM at the request of the COFRENA marine equipment trade association.

Ubifrance has been working closely with the Economic Affairs Department of the French Embassy in Germany, the Loire Atlantique local government authority, and the international development agency for the western region of Brittany.

Sixteen French companies are due to be present on the French pavilion.

The SMM trade fair is a major international event in the marine and maritime sector.

The 2002 fair welcomed 1445 exhibitors, 40,000 visitors from across the world, and featured 20 national pavilions representing some of the world's top shipbuilding companies.

Providing a base for the largest French delegation since the fair started, the 200 square-metre Ubifrance French pavilion in Hall 1 will be in a prime location close to the Chinese shipbuilding industry's stand.

The French companies present this year come from eight sectors: marine equipment; engines and production equipment; navigation systems; marine fixtures, fittings and furnishing; electronic systems; shipbuilding; maritime services; and port services.

Ubifrance and its partners will be pleased to welcome attendees to the French pavilion to meet the 16 French exhibitors: Acebi, which specialises in marine rescue equipment; ACS Production, textile architecture; Forme et Signe, a manufacture of signing equipment; JLMD Ecologic Group, on-board systems for pollutants recovery from sunken oil tankers and other tankers; LAS, international freight and logistics; Marinelec Technologies, electronic monitoring and alarm equipment; Martec, marine electronic protection systems; -MTS, M?canique et traitement de la Silardi?re, a camshaft manufacturer; National Oilwell; BLMTM Products, chains and mooring systems; Navtec, marine engineering, architecture and interior design; Rhodia, a supplier of membrane separation systems; Seimi, marine equipment; Servi-Loire Industrie, windows washing systems; Sirehna, marine hydrodynamic research and industrial applications; SLCE, electro-mechanical construction and engineering; and Sodena SA, software and integrated solutions.

Ubifrance is the French agency for international corporate development and it assists French companies in the development of their business activities outside France.

Ubifrance includes a network of 13 press bureaux around the world, and the French Technology Press Bureau (FTPB) is the London bureau of Ubifrance.
