Quality award for specialist steels

Swedish steel manufacturer Uddeholm has been awarded BS9001:2000 covering activities at its UK operation at Oldbury, West Midlands.
Swedish steel manufacturer Uddeholm has been awarded BS9001:2000 covering activities at its UK operation at Oldbury, West Midlands Uddeholm has developed its process of continuous improvement in line with this new quality standard, and its reward is to be one of the first companies to receive the certificate of conformity from BSI
The new standard will enable Uddeholm to further improve its support for UK manufacturing industry in respect of quality, documentation and service through continuous improvement measured against improvement targets.
Part of its commitment is to the personal development of all employees with a strong emphasis on meeting the needs of customers.
The long-term aim is to help Uddeholm's customers to achieve their goals in respect of quality, service, reduction of lead times and reduced cost.
