UK Instruments and Controls has introduced its new Digitron Foodpro family of thermometers designed for food service and food inspection applications.

The Foodpro is designed as a scanning tool for rapid noncontact surface temperature checks.

It is claimed to provide more comprehensive food safety inspections, combining noncontact temperature measurement for quick surface scanning, an integrated probe for measuring internal temperatures and a built-in countdown timer for monitoring cooking, cooling and food exposure intervals.

Both products feature a quick "HACCP check" function that shows whether food temperatures are within safe ranges for refrigeration or hot holding; or whether temperatures are within the "HACCP danger zone" of 4-60C, where rapid bacteria growth and spoilage can take place.

The thermometers highlight the measurement zone with a bright LED illuminator.

Both products carry CE certification and meet IP54 standards for environmental sealing, allowing the units to be hand-washed using a damp cloth and protects against a light spray of water to maintain proper hygiene.
