The UK Industrial Vision Association carries a wealth of useful information on its website.

The UK Industrial Vision Association carries a wealth of useful information on its website.

In addition to transcripts of the many seminars run by the association and the association's own technical documents, the website contains a number of extremely useful links to national and international sites with a strong interest in vision.

Related sites include: the British Machine Vision Association, the Automated Imaging Association (in the USA), the Society of Manufacturing Engineers, the International Society for Optical Engineering, EUTIST-IMV and the Carnegie Mellon University Computer Vision Home page.

EUTIST-IMV is an interesting European project to promote the take-up of machine vision technology and the web site features some interesting case studies.

EUTIST-IMV is open to all participants from industry and runs an information service to allow industrial partners to find out how they can benefit from machine vision, together with a programme of workshops, seminars and other events.

Another new addition to UKIVA's website are the presentations made at the association's recently held seminar entitled: "Using machine vision to maintain quality in the food and drink industry".

Of particular interest is the keynote speech: "The role of machine vision systems in assuring fresh food quality", by John Roe from Sainsbury.
